Matt Rhodes M.Ed.
Matt has been an educator for twenty-five years; sixteen as a secondary math teacher and the following nine as an assistant principal. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and education from West Virginia Wesleyan College (1998) and then went on to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership with a certification in district administration from Marshall University (2012). Throughout his experience, he has become a leader in classroom best practices, mathematics instruction, and student engagement and was able to instruct fellow teachers and administrators at the district, state, and national levels. He is also recognized as a leading expert of technology integration in the classroom and building-level administration. This expertise led to his participation in the Texas Instruments technology pilot team and their T3 national professional development instruction team. During his service, he has been named the Math Teacher of the Year by the Kanawha County Teachers of Mathematics (2008) as well as the West Virginia Assistant Principal of the Year by the West Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (2020).
